Just wanted to let you know I dropped in on your Kristy McNichol page,
and it is outstanding. It's been quite a while since I'd seen her, and I'd
forgotten just how cute she really is (it's those eyes...) BTW, she was my
"first crush".
Thought I'd share a funny/sad story with you. When I was about 14, and
head over heels in love with her, I hit upon a great plan. I'd call her. At
home. The only problem was (of course) that I didn't have her home number.
I figured she had an unlisted number, so what I wanted was a list of the
unlisted numbers for Sherman Oaks, where she lived at the time. So I got
a Sherman Oaks (and surrounding communities) phone book, and several hundred
sheets of paper. I then started putting all the numbers on the sheets of
paper in numerical order. It was quite simple in theory. When I got done,
the "spaces" between listed numbers would be, by definition, the unlisted
numbers. Then all I had to do was to call the unlisted numbers, until I
found hers.
I got about halfway through "W", when she was on the "Mike Douglas Show",
and I heard her say she had just moved to a new house, in Malibu if I
remember correctly. I wanted to die, right then and there.
